Raisha Lalwani’s ‘The Dairy on the fifth floor’ is the story of a girl named Savannah Khanna. She is a very sensitive person and usually she copes with her intense emotions by writing dairy entries. Her diary and her confrontation with the city's renowned psychiatrist, Dr. Rama Berry, are included in the book.
Few of the dairy entries are very expressive. Many aspects of our lives are covered very well in the book, and one can easily relate to them. The book is about a very important subject: mental health.
The engaging and flawless narration and heart-touching poems really make this book a good read. The climax of the book is quite unexpected but tells you why this book is named, ‘The diary on the fifth floor.’ Overall, the book is light and a good read.
I give 3/5 starts to this book.
